From a 3D model to a place you can imagine living in.
For Sundkanten, a new waterfront quarter in Pargas, Finland, Paalanen & Parkatti gave us a precise architectural model. Our role was to bring it to life — through light, materials, colour and atmosphere.
We developed the 3D visualisation of the project, from eye-level views along the promenade to the aerial view of the entire neighbourhood, always staying faithful to the original architecture while placing it within a believable, lived-in environment.
But visualisation was only part of the process.
We also researched the colours of traditional Finnish archipelago towns: muted ochres, dusty reds, soft greens, pale blues and chalky whites. From this study, we developed the facade palette building by building, helping the new architecture feel naturally connected to its historic waterfront context.
Because colour isn’t simply decoration.
It can be part of how new architecture belongs to a place.
