Pink cloudy beach day 🏖️

I’m still finishing the sketches I made while on vacations. You have already seen the black and white version of this one.
Now I finally colored it digitally with some watercolour effect and the pastel colours I loved. What I did different was to use a light pink background so the whole scene would have this pinkish effect. I’m quite happy with how it turned out ☺️

It’s summer, time to present myself again.

Hello, I’m Eva Lartigue, but you can call me Evy.
I’m a 28 years old Brazilian artist who lives in Albagnano, a Buddhist village in Verbania, Italy. Yes, that’s right.
I came from the Brazilian seaside to live a more meaningful life in the mountains and I’ve been doing this for 3 and a half years now. I met my husband in Albagnano in 2019 and the rest is story ❤️

In 2020 I reconnected with the artist in me, who has been “sleeping” since my teenage years because of “you can’t make money from art/are you crazy?” kind of thoughts. Art always called to me. I’ve been drawing since ever, in my childhood there were no smartphones and my hobby was always to be drawing whatever I wanted to. My parents gave me pencils, wax pastels, pens and more. I always had a sketchbook with me and I would draw all my family.
I was the art kid. And it got lost with the years. I went to study nutrition and never felt really in my place.
So pandemics came and I found myself within myself and that’s where I reconnected with art - at that time drawing mandalas with acrylic markers.
Soon I got some watercolours and the journey officially began.
I studied a professional illustration course at La Galeria Roja and it gave me the direction I needed.
I understood I love editorial and industrial illustration. After that I’ve been sketching and building a watercolour, ink and mixed media portfolio.

I have many plans for my art career and this is where I’ll keep sharing my journey. In the stories you can follow my daily life, sketches, plant diaries, travels and more.

Luckily you’ll stay to be part of it ❤️

A self portrait based on a picture my husband shot when we were in London in 2022. It was my first time (and only until now) that I visited that gorgeous city.
With this sketch I learned that my ink was not waterproof which means I should always use this ink after the watercolour and not the opposite, like I did 😂 anyway it’s an interesting effect.

One of my greatest inspirations of all times.
The looseness of his work, the harmonic combination of cold and warm tones, the movement, the compositions by itself.

Even though I don't paint with oil neither acrylics, his work inspires me to be more sketchy, to show more movement and to create harmony between the composition and use of color. And, of course, the wonderful use of pastel tones.

Most well-known today for his series of serene water lilies paintings, 19th-century Impressionist Claude Monet was a groundbreaking tour de force in the development of expressive art. Throughout his long life, which spanned the years between 1840 and 1926, Monet would progress from drawing amusing c...

Ink and watercolour sketch of Pallanza, Lago Maggiore.

I used a blue acrylic ink by Le Franc Bourgeois with a dip pen and colored it with watercolours by Van Gogh.

“Blooming happy”

Following my elderly ladies sketch addiction, I made this ink and watercolor sketch with a reference picture of this beautiful woman holding tulips and so happy for that.

As you see lately my palette is reduced, I’m focusing more in cold colors and I’m contrasting it with some warm hues as the pink in this case. 🌷

“Conversaciones de orilla” (Shore conversations)

This is a sketch I made at the Zapillo beach in Almería in one of these hot and crowded days. I remember there were many people chatting, but what normally calls my attention are the elderly women and their gestures. I’m not paying attention to what they are saying, but to how they are moving. I love the expressiveness of it. It’s art by itself.

Just to mention that this is originally a black and white sketch that I later coloured digitally on Procreate. I’m testing some watercolour brushes to feel more confident with digital colouring. What do you think ?
