Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce (ro)drigo méndez s., an independent designer based in Mexico City whose practice is rooted in his immediate physical and cultural surroundings.

His work moves between paradoxes, refined and raw, industrial and artisanal, finished and unfinished, blending advanced techniques with intuitive making to produce objects that are utilitarian without being indifferent.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Ivan Aguilar Castillo, Mexican architect and product designer, trained in Milan, working at the intersection of architecture, light, and natural stone.

His collection Tramonto transforms hand-selected onyx remnants into circular lighting objects: sculptural by day, a source of indirect light by night. Each piece is hand-cut and hand-finished, extending the life of noble materials while preserving the singular character of the stone.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026

Today we introduce Sabrina Kenssous, French-Moroccan interior designer and founder of Etni'KS, a design brand built on ethical collaborations with artisans across Africa.

With 14 years of experience in hospitality and residential design across the Middle East, and a practice now based in Barcelona, Kenssous works at the meeting point of contemporary design and handmade savoir-faire. Her objects, a coffee table woven from Elephant Grass in northern Ghana, a portable lamp in wheel-thrown Moroccan clay, a rug handwoven by women artisans in Bolgatanga, carry the specificity of where and how they were made.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026

Today we introduce Ekaterina Borovkova, engineer, product designer, and founder of ADJ STYLE, an Italian brand creating home accessories and décor from regenerated natural leather.

Founded in 2016, ADJ STYLE works across residential, hospitality, and contract interiors, with a practice that brings together craft, material research, and collaboration.

Her ELEGIA collection, a multifunctional object in regenerated leather, plexiglass, and steel, assembled without glue or stitching, is a good example: a single form that adapts to the space and use it finds itself in.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026

Today we introduce Bo Ah Kim, founder of MANO Design Studio, established in Seoul in 2016, at the intersection of traditional Korean craft and contemporary design.

Trained in interior design in Korea and product design in Milan, her practice centres on lighting made from Hanji, a paper hand-crafted from mulberry bark.

Each piece is cut, folded, and stitched by hand, carrying in its small imperfections the trace of the time and gesture it took to make.

IUAV e Venice Design Week proseguono la collaborazione che mette al centro la relazione tra formazione, progetto e impresa.

La sinergia con la sezione Design di prodotto e interior design nasce con l'obiettivo di coinvolgere studentesse e studenti in attività espositive, occasioni di confronto e percorsi progettuali capaci di dialogare con il mondo professionale. Un programma che vedrà anche la partecipazione di docenti ed esperti attraverso conferenze, incontri e momenti di approfondimento in relazione diretta con le imprese.

Una collaborazione che si apre a nuove progettualità tra Milano e Venezia: due città, due ecosistemi del design, orientati alla ricerca, alla sperimentazione e alla crescita delle nuove generazioni di progettisti.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Marcantonio, Italian artist and designer with a background in fine arts and set design. Since 2001, his work has explored the relationship between humans and nature through sculpture and objects where irony and playfulness are never incidental, they are the method.

His lamp Mooshi, produced by Murano glass atelier MULTIFORME, takes the form of a small luminous creature: blown Murano glass, brass in gold finish, rechargeable battery. Something between a mushroom and an unknown organism, quiet, soft, entirely its own.
