Βραβείο ΕΒΓΕ για τον Mr. Stigl! 👐

Ο κατάλογος της έκθεσης Mr. Stigl, της ελληνικής συμμετοχής στην Μπιενάλε Τέχνης του 2019, τιμήθηκε με το Ελληνικό Βραβείο Γραφιστικής και Εικονογράφησης ΕΒΓΕ 2020.

Κείμενα των Mark Mazower, Gražina Subelyté, Adam Szymczyk, της Κατερίνας Τσέλου και του Παναγιώτη Πανόπουλου, μαζί με ένα ποίημα του Νίκου Εγγονόπουλου και με τα έργα της Εύας Στεφανή, του Ζάφου Ξαγοράρη και του Πάνου Χαραλάμπους συμπληρώνουν την αφήγηση του ελληνικού περιπτέρου και της ιστορίας των κατασκευασμένων αφηγήσεων της διεθνούς εικαστικής έκθεσης.

We are very happy to announce that the exhibition catalogue of Mr. Stigl, the Pavilion of Greece at the 58th International Art Exhibition—La Biennale di Venezia, Giardini, Venice, May 11–November 24, 2019, curated by Katerina Tselou, has been awarded the ΕΒΓΕ Greek Graphic Design and Illustration Award 2020.

Texts by Mark Mazower, Gražina Subelyté, Adam Szymczyk, Katerina Tselou, and Panayotis Panopoulos, along with a poem by Nikos Engonopoulos together with the works by Zafos Xagoraris, Eva Stefani and Panos Charalambous complement the narration of the Greek Pavilion and the international art exhibition’s history of constructed narrations.

The catalogue is available at the museum shops of MOMus museums in Athens and Thessaloniki, and at Dolce publishing house in Athens.

Mr. Stigl goes on air 📻

In the spirit of La Boheme Katerina Tselou, the curator of the Greek Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, talks with Florent Frizet and Eric Stephany about "Mr. Stigl", the enigmatic character that gave the title to the exhibition of artist Panos Charalambous, Eva Stefani and Zafos Xagoraris at this year's Venice Biennale.

O Mr. Stigl αποχαιρετά τη Βενετία.

Η έκθεση που παρουσίασαν οι καλλιτέχνες Ζάφος Ξαγοράρης, Εύα Στεφανή και Πάνος Χαραλάμπους, σε επιμέλεια Κατερίνας Τσέλου, εκπροσωπώντας την Ελλάδα στη 58η Διεθνή Έκθεση Τέχνης της Βενετίας, ολοκληρώθηκε χθες, την Κυριακή 24 Νοεμβρίου 2019.

Για περισσότερους από έξι μήνες, από τις 11 Μαΐου 2019, όταν η έκθεση άνοιξε για το κοινό, ο Mr. Stigl, αυτός ο φανταστικός ήρωας, μετέφερε δεκάδες χιλιάδες επισκέπτες απ' όλο τον κόσμο σε μια ατμοσφαιρική περιπλάνηση από τις μεγάλες αφηγήσεις στις μικρές προσωπικές ιστορίες. Η ελληνική συμμετοχή στην 58η Διεθνή Έκθεση Τέχνης της Βενετίας προκάλεσε το ενδιαφέρον του διεθνούς κοινού της σύγχρονης τέχνης προτείνοντας εναλλακτικούς τρόπους ανάγνωσης και ερμηνείας του παρελθόντος.

Ο Mr. Stigl απέδωσε ιδανικά τους διαφορετικούς ήρωες των λοξών και παράδοξων ιστοριών με τις οποίες καταπιάστηκαν οι τρεις σύγχρονοι Έλληνες καλλιτέχνες. Στο περιβάλλον που δημιούργησαν, επενδύοντας τον εσωτερικό και εξωτερικό χώρο του περιπτέρου με εγκαταστάσεις, εικόνες και ήχους, αναδύθηκαν άγνωστες (ή λιγότερες γνωστές) λεπτομέρειες, υπόγειες ή και αντιφατικές διαδρομές για να ανατρέψουν με παιγνιώδη τρόπο τις επίσημες εκδοχές της Ιστορίας.

Η ευθύνη για την υλοποίηση της εθνικής εκπροσώπησης, με την ιδιότητα του Επιτρόπου, ανατέθηκε από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού στον νεοσύστατο Μητροπολιτικό Οργανισμό Μουσείων Εικαστικών Τεχνών Θεσσαλονίκης (MOMus). Τον ρόλο της εθνικής επιτρόπου ανέλαβε η Συραγώ Τσιάρα, αναπληρώτρια διευθύντρια του MOMus-Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης και του MOMus-Πειραματικού Κέντρου Τεχνών. H έκθεση χρηματοδοτήθηκε από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού.
