🖼Në edicionin e 58-të të Bienales të Artit, në Venecia, Itali, hapur në muajin maj, Shqipëria u përfaqësua me artistin Driant Zeneli përmes projektit me titull: "Ndoshta kozmosi nuk është aq i jashtëzakonshëm"-“Maybe the cosmos is not so extraordinary”. Një fabul e ndërtuar në Bulqizë, duke ofruar një imazh tjetër për qytetin kromit. Një ngjarje, që zuri hapësira në mediat ndërkombëtare.

Do you remember "On the way to Epsilon Eridani" the novel 📖🚀which inspired Driant Zeneli in the video installation presented in the Albanian Pavilion?
We were pleased to have its writer Arion Hysenbegas as a contributor to the Biennale catalogue.

In his text he argues:
"I was delighted to learn from Driant Zeneli (…) that he was particularly inspired by the fiction novel On the way to Epsilon Eridani written by me. This is a scientifically true assertion, supported by continuous research(…) Science asserts that in our Galaxy and even in the whole Universe, the Earth is the only celestial body where life has appeared, developed, evolved , reaching the highest degree: the man.

I congratulate Driant Zeneli, the artist guided by the desire to present scientific truth through his art, featuring under the broad name, Maybe the cosmos is not so extraordinary.

"Born in 1983, Driant Zeneli was only eight years old when the borders of Albania opened, and its secluded inhabitants, until then living in perpetual fear, were presented with new possibilities of being in this world. Albania’s story is of course not unique—no country’s is. The falsification of facts in the service of political propaganda is a strategy shared by many regimes, even so-called democratic ones. Zeneli, a member of the second wave of dynamic Albanian artists, grew up in a gasp of national confusion triggered by untold or imposed truths. Dis-illusionment at the demystification of the grand narrative of progress and equality, as well as the subsequent desire to escape to a better world, were the pertinent feelings of the period."

"The Albanian Pavilion introduces as with a sculptural intervention with futuristic content created by Driant Zeneli, who got inspired by an Albanian science fiction novel. The space capsule discovered by teenagers at a chrome mine traces the chrome from the excavation to the factory and later a the worldwide distribution, highlighting the economic exploitation and the promise of departure. Zeneli connects the repression of the underground to an installation, using the sound and the space to create a seemingly dystopian reality."
