Parashat Ki Tisa – Breaking and Renewal
This week’s Torah portion (Exodus 30:11–34:35) confronts one of the most dramatic moments in the Torah: the creation of the Golden Calf. As Moses descends from Sinai with the tablets of the covenant, the people fall into fear and impatience, and the tablets are shattered.
Yet Ki Tisa is not only a story of crisis — it is also a story of forgiveness, intercession, and renewal. Moses returns to the mountain, the covenant is restored, and new tablets are given.
At The Studio in Venice, we explore Ki Tisa through art — broken forms becoming whole again, light emerging from fracture, and the resilience of covenant.
Join us in reflecting on human fragility, divine mercy, and the possibility of renewal.
