Dal 2017 la città di Venezia presenta The Venice Glass Week: un festival internazionale annuale dedicato a celebrare, promuovere e sostenere l'arte del vetro, con un focus speciale su quella di Murano. Dopo il grande successo dell'edizione straordinaria di The Italian Glass Weeks, torna nel 2023 The Venice Glass Week con un entusiasmante programma di mostre, visite guidate, workshop, dimostrazioni

, conferenze, attività per famiglie e altro ancora (9-17 settembre 2023).

Since 2017 the city of Venice has staged The Venice Glass Week: an annual international festival dedicated to celebrating, promoting and supporting the art of glass, with a particular focus on that of Murano. Building on the success of The Italian Glass Weeks, The Venice Glass Week will return in 2023 with an exciting programme of exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, demonstrations, conferences, family activities and more (9th-17th September 2023)

From 15 to 17 September at Palazzo Franchetti, the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti in collaboration with Corning Museum of Glass, Ecole du Louvre, Fondazione Musei Civici Venezia, LE STANZE DEL VETRO, Venice International Foundation, Victoria and Albert Museum will organise the 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬, a longstanding seminar series designed for glass experts from across Europe and the United States, including museum curators, scholars, collectors, restorers and glass artists. This year’s edition will focus on Venetian Glass and à la Façon de Venise in the Low Countries.

Dal 15 al 17 settembre, l’Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti in collaborazione con Corning Museum of Glass, Ecole du Louvre, Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, LE STANZE DEL VETRO, Venice Foundation, Victoria & Albert Museum, organizza a Palazzo Franchetti le 𝐆𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐢 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐥 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐳𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨, il tradizionale appuntamento con i seminari di approfondimento dedicati a esperti di vetro provenienti da tutta Europa e Stati Uniti, tra cui conservatori di musei, studiosi, collezionisti, restauratori e artisti del vetro. Il tema di quest’anno sarà Il vetro veneziano e à la façon de Venise nei Paesi Bassi.

French designer, artist and scenographer Pierre Charpin lives and works between Paris and Ivry-sur-Seine. After studying visual arts, he began focusing on furniture and object design in the 1990s, while continuing to develop his artistic practice.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with leading international brands including Alessi, Hermès, HAY, Ligne Roset, Venini and Zanotta.

His work has been featured in numerous international exhibitions and scenography projects. In 2017, he was named Creator of the Year by Maison&Objet.

His Triplo vase, produced by Venini, was selected for the 2005 edition of the Compasso d’Oro. Many of his creations are part of public collections, such as the FNAC (National Foundation for Contemporary Art), the Centre Pompidou, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

We can't wait to see the chandelier he designed for 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝒊𝒍 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒐.

Pierre Charpin, designer, artista e scenografo francese, vive e lavora tra Parigi e Ivry-sur-Seine. Dopo gli studi in arti visive, dagli anni Novanta si dedica al design di mobili e oggetti, continuando parallelamente la propria ricerca artistica.

Nel corso della sua carriera ha collaborato con importanti realtà internazionali come Alessi, Hermès, HAY, Ligne Roset, Venini e Zanotta.

Il suo lavoro è stato protagonista di numerose mostre internazionali e progetti di scenografia. Nel 2017 è stato nominato Créateur de l’année da Maison&Objet.

Il suo vaso Triplo, prodotto da Venini, viene selezionato per l’edizione 2005 del Compasso D’Oro. Molte delle sue creazioni fanno parte delle collezioni della FNAC (Fondazione Nazionale di Arte Contemporanea) del Centre Pompidou e del Museo di Arti Decorative di Parigi.

Non vediamo l'ora di scoprire il lampadario che ha ideato per 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝒊𝒍 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒐.

✨ Let's continue to discover the events staged by the Organising Committee of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑽𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑮𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌.

Until 22nd November LE STANZE DEL VETRO hosts the exhibition 𝟏𝟗𝟒𝟖–𝟏𝟗𝟓𝟖 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝑮𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑽𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑩𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒆, the third chapter of the exhibition programme dedicated to the presence of Murano glass at the Venetian event, curated by Marino Barovier. For Murano, this decade marked an exceptionally fertile season, in tune with the cultural dynamism of the economic boom and with the rise of design culture.

📚In addition, from 14th to 18th September, the Centro Studi del Vetro (Glass Study Centre) of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini will open its archives to the public: a unique opportunity to discover and appreciate the rich documentary heritage of glass art.

Fino al 22 novembre, LE STANZE DEL VETRO ospitano 𝟏𝟗𝟒𝟖–𝟏𝟗𝟓𝟖 𝑰𝒍 𝒗𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒐 𝒅𝒊 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝒆 𝒍𝒂 𝑩𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒅𝒊 𝑽𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒛𝒊𝒂, la terza mostra del ciclo espositivo dedicato alla presenza del vetro di Murano alla manifestazione veneziana, a cura di Marino Barovier.

📚 Inoltre, dal 14 al 18 settembre, il Centro Studi del Vetro della Fondazione Giorgio Cini aprirà eccezionalmente il suo archivio al pubblico: un’occasione unica per esplorare documenti, progetti e materiali dedicati all’arte vetraria, tra passato e presente.

From 12th to 20th September, Palazzo Morosini will host the exhibition “Consorzio Promovetro Murano 10 years of The Venice Glass Week - A real and virtual journey between past and future”, organised by Consorzio Promovetro Murano.

The exhibition unfolds between past, present, and future, translating a decade of activities, initiatives, experiments, and transformations that have featured the companies licensed to the Vetro Artistico® Murano brand into a physical and immersive experience.

La mostra si sviluppa tra passato, presente e futuro, traducendo in esperienza fisica e immersiva un decennio di attività, iniziative, sperimentazioni e trasformazioni che hanno visto protagoniste le aziende concessionarie del marchio Vetro Artistico® Murano.

Amanda Levete is a British architect, Stirling Prize winner and founder of the architecture studio AL_A. Amanda trained at the Architectural Association and worked for Richard Rogers before joining Future Systems as a partner in 1989, where she realised ground-breaking buildings including the Media Centre at Lord’s Cricket Ground and Selfridges department store in Birmingham.

In 2009, together with directors Ho-Yin Ng, Alice Dietsch and Matt Wilkinson she founded AL_A. Projects include three museums: Lisbon’s MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology), the V&A Exhibition Road Quarter in London, and Paisley Museum in Scotland. Current work includes STEP fusion power plant in Nottinghamshire, Central Yards in Hong Kong, the Belgrade Philharmonic Concert Hall, and several projects in Albania.

Richard Meitner has worked as a designer for the glass industry in Italy, Germany Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

From 1981 to 2000, he was in charge of the glass department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. In 2006, Meitner was appointed to the faculty for science and technology of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (New University of Lisbon), Portugal and continues as consultant to the research group Vicarte there. In 2016, he earned a PhD from the University of Lisbon, Belas Artes.

Richard Meitner has taken part in more than 150 solo and group exhibitions all over the world, and hisworks are now included in 65 permanent museum collections in 17 countries.

Richard Meitner ha lavorato come designer per l’industria del vetro in Italia, Germania, Austria, Svizzera, Paesi Bassi e Belgio.

Dal 1981 al 2000 è stato responsabile del dipartimento di vetro presso la Gerrit Rietveld Academy di Amsterdam. Nel 2006 Meitner è entrato a far parte della facoltà di Scienze e Tecnologia dell’Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Nuova Università di Lisbona), in Portogallo, e continua tuttora a collaborare come consulente con il gruppo di ricerca Vicarte. Nel 2016 ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca presso la Facoltà di Belle Arti dell’Università di Lisbona.

Richard Meitner ha partecipato a oltre 150 mostre personali e collettive in tutto il mondo e le sue opere fanno oggi parte di 65 collezioni museali permanenti in 17 Paesi.

Cerith Wyn Evans began his career as a short and experimental film maker, before turning to visual and conceptual art in the 1990s. His practice incorporates a wide range of media, notably neon, sound, photography, and in glass. His work seeks to create an immersive environment that challenges the viewer's notions of perception and reality.

Wyn Evans employs strategies of exhibition making that are often site-specific, viewing exhibitions as a catalyst to produce a reservoir of possible meanings and discursive experiences.

We can’t wait to admire the chandelier he designed for 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝒊𝒍 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒐!

Cerith Wyn Evans ha iniziato la sua carriera come regista di cortometraggi e film sperimentali, prima di dedicarsi, negli anni Novanta, all’arte visiva e concettuale. La sua pratica artistica abbraccia un’ampia varietà di mezzi espressivi, tra cui il neon, il suono, la fotografia e il vetro. Il suo lavoro mira a creare ambienti immersivi che mettono in discussione le idee dello spettatore sulla percezione e sulla realtà.

Wyn Evans adotta strategie espositive spesso site-specific, considerando le mostre come un catalizzatore capace di generare un insieme di possibili significati ed esperienze.

Non vediamo l’ora di ammirare il lampadario che ha progettato per 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝒊𝒍 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒐!
