We are very happy to announce that Roy Boney Jr. will be the third of four keynote speakers that will join the international conference Visual Depictions of the American West. Boney works for the Cherokee Nation Department of Language as a program manager where he works extensively in making Cherokee language accessible in modern technology, and his talk is titled “Cherokee Storytelling Through Art: History, Culture, and Language”.

Siamo lieti di annunciare che Roy Boney Jr. sarà il terzo dei quattro keynote speakers che prenderanno parte al convegno internazionale Visual Depictions of the American West. Boney è program manager presso il Cherokee Nation Department of Language, dove lavora per promuovere l’accessibilità della lingua Cherokee nella tecnologia moderna, e il titolo del suo intervento è “Cherokee Storytelling Through Art: History, Culture, and Language”.

Lassiter is assistant professor at the University of New Mexico – Gallup and her talk is titled “Re-Visions: New Perspectives on the Old West”.

In light of several requests for a deadline extension for the international conference “Visual Depictions of the American West,” due to the current moment of uncertainty, the Organizing Committee agreed on allowing it.
Together with this, we also wish to inform that descriptions of the seminars so far accepted are now available at https://www.venicewestconference.com/page-2.
It is possible to apply to accepted seminars, send an open paper abstract, or submit a new seminar proposal (including at least 3 paper abstracts).
Proposals of up to 2000 characters including spaces (around 350 words) must be sent to the e-mail address [email protected] by February 14th, 2021 at 11:59 pm CET.
For further clarification, please get in touch with the organizing committee.

Alcuni di voi ci hanno contattato per richiedere una finestra temporale più ampia al fine di poter inviare una proposta di presentazione, o per trovare paper con cui riuscire a completare il proprio seminario, viste le difficoltà dovute all’attuale momento di incertezza. Dopo un’attenta riflessione, il comitato organizzatore del convegno Visual Depictions of the American West ha stabilito una riapertura dei termini di invio di proposte sia di presentazione, sia di seminario completo.
Contestualmente alla riapertura, segnaliamo che sono disponibili online le descrizioni dei seminari sin qui ammessi, consultabili al seguente link: https://www.venicewestconference.com/it/page-2.
È possibile inviare un paper per l’inserimento in uno dei seminari ammessi, così come presentare paper liberi e nuove proposte di seminario (a condizione che queste includano gli abstract di almeno 3 presentazioni).
Proposte di presentazioni e seminari, di massimo 2000 caratteri spazi inclusi (circa 350 parole), dovranno essere inviati all’indirizzo e-mail [email protected] entro le ore 23:59 CET di domenica 14 febbraio 2021.
Il comitato organizzatore è a disposizione per ulteriori chiarimenti.
