SIGMAR POLKE. THE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR
VENICE BIENNALE 1986 | DIERKING GALERIE AM PARADEPLATZ

A group of 26 works also connects the pavilion images with photographs  of Salvador Dalí and his "Manifeste Mystique" of 1951, introducing an additional reference to theories of the dissolution of matter and metaphysical concepts.

The exhibition at Spazio Ravà includes a selection from the world’s largest collection of these Venice photographs. It highlights Polke’s reputation as an "anti-photographer", who deliberately employed technical flaws as creative tools to push the boundaries of the medium.
Visit it until Sunday!

SIGMAR POLKE. THE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR VENICE BIENNALE 1986 | DIERKING GALERIE AM PARADEPLATZ

Forty years after Sigmar Polke’s installation "Athanor" at the 42. Venice Biennale, the exhibition "Sigmar Polke: The Photographs for Venice Biennale 1986", presents an extensive body of unique photographic works.

Curated and conceived by Dierk Dierking and Gerald Winckler, the project offers a rare chance to see the creative process behind one of the Biennale’s most legendary installations.

These photographs were never just documentation. For Polke, the camera was a tool for experimentation.
Double exposures, solarizations, chemical manipulations. Each silver gelatin print is a unique work — a spirit-like world suspended between photography and painting.

Don't miss it! This is the final week - closing: August 2nd.

CHRONICLES OF THE FLOATING CITY | Du Hai Jun
Du Haijun

Du Hai Jun's painterly research lies between figuration and urban construction: through a masterful use of oil on canvas—and at times on supports such as aluminum—the artist investigates the phenomenology of the modern metropolis, from the density of residential spaces to the fragmentation of everyday landscapes, and the emergence of architectural grids as a metaphor for suspended individual lives.

In his compositions, windows—mirrors of humanity and silence—become the protagonists: visual testimonies of micro-stories, social tensions, and collective memories.

Visit "Chronicles of the Floating City" until July 29!

CHRONICLES OF THE FLOATING CITY | Du Hai Jun
Du Haijun Big Eyes International Vision

"Chronicles of the Floating City", the first solo exhibition in Italy by the Chinese artist Du Hai Jun, continues until 29 July at Cavana Gallery, Dorsoduro.

The exhibition introduces European audiences to a selection of works from Du Hai Jun's most renowned series dedicated to “urban windows” (Urban Window and N Windows). These series have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally since 2013, beginning with "Who Can See Cities" at the M Art Center in Shanghai.

In these works, Du explores the aesthetic and social experience of the contemporary city, at the intersection of architecture, memory, and collective identity.
You are all invited to discover Du's works during these final days of the exhibition. Don't miss it out!

Corpo Unico, Alessandro Rudello’s solo exhibition at SPUMA – Space for the Arts in Giudecca, is still open until 10 July!

The project, curated by Vincenzo Alessandria, brings together a body of paintings on paper and canvas in which the body becomes Rudello’s primary subject of exploration.
His pictorial form is in a state of dissolution; the applied pigment becomes a halo, a stain hollowed out at its centre, as if there had been a passing presence on the surface rather than a permanent one. These figures, emerging from a womb and  populating the surfaces, exude and dissolve all superfluous matter, retaining only the most radical formal structure.

We look forward to welcoming you from Tuesday to Sunday, from 3 pm to 7 pm, and by appointment: [email protected].

THE SPIRITS OF MARITIME CROSSING 2026 | Bangkok Art Biennale Foundation
Official Collateral Event of the 61. Art Biennalebkkartbiennale

Through layered narratives of faith, race, migration and neo-colonial realities, the exhibition reflects on a world in flux, offering moments of quiet resistance and poetic resilience.

“I am deeply honoured that The Spirits of Maritime Crossing 2026 returns to Venice as one of the Collateral Events of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia" explains the Curator, Prof. Dr. Apinan Poshyananda.

"In this edition, 20 artists from Southeast Asia, Serbia, and Ireland examine cultural flows through migration, diaspora, and dislocation as a result of colonization, war, and environmental detriment.
The hum in minor keys of the voiceless from distant places are brought to Venice.
Shifting a slower gear with meditative deep breaths, viewers experience through film, performance, sound, painting, and installation multiple interpretations of spirits of maritime crossing.”

Visit the project until August 2!
