One of the most common questions we receive is: *Why do you sand the masks?*
Sanding may not be the most exciting part of the process, but it’s one of the most important. It smooths the surface, removes the ridges left by overlapping layers of papier-mâché, and prepares the mask for painting and decoration.
It’s one of those steps that often goes unnoticed, yet it makes all the difference in the final result.
Behind every finished Venetian mask are days of work, drying time, sanding, painting, and decoration.
