Friday 19th - 13:00-14:30 - at China Room, Castello del Valentino.
The appointment to discover the library and research activities of the China Room of the Polytechnic of Turin is back. Through a selection of books from the China Room's library collection, visitors will be accompanied on three thematic itineraries dedicated to the processes of urban and territorial transformation, to the architectural project and urban regeneration in relation to major events and transnational development policies.

Today, within the 2024 China Room seminar series, Michele Bonino, Francesco Carota, Lidia Preti, and Sofia Leoni present and discuss the draft of the book "Grounding the Belt and Road Initiative. A Guide to the Architecture of the New Silk Road" by Michele Bonino, Francesco Carota, and Sorhab Ahmed Marri.

The proposal will be discussed with the China Room fellows Antonio di Campli and Giorgia Greco, together with the external guests Bernhard Müller - China University of Mining and Technology, Paulina Schiappacasse - China University of Mining and Technology, Francesca Spigarelli - Università di Macerata.

From September 26th to October 2nd, the 2023 World Design Cities Conference, organized by the Municipal Government of Shanghai, will occur at the Huangpu Riverside in Shanghai.
The conference, titled ‘Design Beyond Creativity’, primarily focuses on the future of urban construction and development. It will delve into critical global themes, including industrial symbiosis, data-driven approaches, inclusivity, equality, health and well-being, and net-zero emissions.

Among the esteemed international academics and experts invited to lead discussions on forward-looking design, industrial innovation, and multidisciplinary integration is also China Room fellow Michele Bonino.

We are happy to launch our Winter Session 2023, "CHINA ROOM MEETS TURIN", with three public events in the city! They allow researchers and designers to meet each other to question their own spheres of interest and the role of cross-boundary disciplines.
We are starting today with Circolo dei lettori at 21:00 CET, and the series will continue on the 07th of February at Cult Lab Torino and the 02nd of March at SETA_Sala da tè culturale.

CLIMB-E urban mobility innovation system has been presented at CES - Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas!

The project is part of the cooperation established between Politecnico di Torino - with China Room members from DAD PoliTo - Dip. Architettura e Design and DIST - Dip. Interateneo di Scienze, Progetto e Politiche del Territorio, Italdesign, and Schindler Italia to explore the potential of level 5 urban mobility and autonomy. Architecture and design disciplines contributed to envisioning flexible solutions capable of adapting to different urban contexts, combining street and vertical levels.

China Room is back to the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture of Shenzhen for its 2022 edition!

Together with the architects from Turin Design Hub and with the cooperation of the South China University of Technology developed the installation GBA UNINTERRUPTED, intending to reflect on the spatial and temporal continuity latent in disused industrial spaces in the Greater Bay Area, offering a glimpse into innovative human settlement patterns, new urban functions and the relationship between the public and individuals.

The work is part of the activities of Polito Studio. Launched in 2021, Polito Studio is a two-year joint program of Politecnico di Torino and Ordine Architetti Torino, to transcend the boundaries between academia and industry by enhancing the transfer of skills for work in complex environments such as China.

Today Prof. Michele Bonino attended the online seminar 'Yuan-er: From the Mega to the Micro' within the framework of the exhibition "China Pavillion Returns - Taoxixuan" curated by Prof. Zhang Li (Tsinghua University) and organized by China International Exhibition Agency / Jingdezhen Towyi Cultural Development Co. Ltd / Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University Co., Ltd / World Architecture Magazine Publications.
In 2021 China Room co-supervised the development of the Chinese Pavillion for the 17th International Architecture Exhibition
at La Biennale di Venezia: now the installation returned to China to host a series of events and seminars for the public.
