I have been thinking - The Tower is not a card of simple destruction but of brutal grace. The lightning does not punish so much as correct, demolishing structures built on ego and illusion rather than truth.
Mercury’s connection runs through the Hermetic rather than astrological tradition.

As ruler of thought and mental architecture, Mercury (connections with the Fool) governs the rigid belief systems the Tower and too The Emperor is rigid and can destroy.

The collapse is cognitive as much as physical.

New order follows the principle of solve et coagula: dissolve before you coagulate. The crown blown from the pinnacle is the false crown. The fire at the windows is illumination.
