L.b.w.l, the Look, but with love dance collective is a project by two dancer friends, Lucia Moretti (Turin, Italy) and Suhaee Abro (Karachi, Pakistan). Due to residence card issues, Suhaee had to move back to Pakistan leaving LBWL to work in distance. As dancers and performing artists in general, we need to be closer to each other to work, create and exhibit our art.
Recently we did our première performance of our first production called SindhuPo. Sindhu (river of Suhaee's area in Pakistan) and Po (river of Lucia's area in Italy) us a story about friendships, relationships and meetings that happen between people coming from different parts of the world. How they are different but so similar. How they are divided by visas, borders and judgements towards each other.
After this, Lucia has gone back to Italy and Suhaee remains in Pakistan. As it is difficult working physically from such a big distance and expensive to keep finding ways to work together -Please support us perform SindhuPo also in Italy and till next year all over the world. Help us have an opportunity to be closer to each other so we can continue to spread our message about peace and openness between the world through our performing arts.
We strongly believe that this is possible.
We do not believe in the existence of walls and divisions.
With the successful premiere in Pakistan, we have given our audience the first taste of what we want to talk about through our art.
