On Saturday 27 August, don't miss “SISSA Hosting”, the art&science project that will present our School through the voices of SISSA people.

SISSA Hosting is a theatrical performance with wireless headphones: an experience of exploration and discovery of the spaces that host the School and the varied community that animates it, through sound gathered from research in the field.
The public will be able to enjoy a narration through headphones with the real voices of teachers, students, researchers, managers and all those who revolve around SISSA spaces. A documentary and poetic story at the same time, the result of the interaction between the “host” community, the artists and the “guest” spectators.

The event is part of the Festival In\Visible Cities - Contaminazioni Digitali and it will be held in Italian.

FIRST IN-PERSON MEETING OF THE SISSA ALUMNI SOCIETY:

The program of the event:

FRIDAY
2-3:30 pm = mentoring program for SISSA students in collaboration with SISSA Valorization and Innovation. Students will have the opportunity to interact with mentors.
3:30-4 pm = coffee break
4pm = talk by Nicola Bassan (Fincantieri)
5 pm = talk by Daniela Tonon (University of Padova)
6pm = networking happy hour.

SATURDAY
10am = round table on Inclusion&Diversity
11am = two-hour meeting of the Assembly focused on discussing projects of the Society. After that… OSMIZA!
We will take care of the transportation to the Osmiza.

The talks, the round table, and the meeting of the Assembly will be in hybrid format, to allow only Society members to participate remotely, if needed.

Who can participate IN PERSON to the meeting?
- Society members
- Alumni non members
- Non alumni (i.e. who did a postdoc or an internship, etc.., at SISSA)

Anujaianthi discussed her thesis in at SISSA back in 2011. After a job experience in Sweden, she moved to the US. She is now working in the private sector, as a product specialist covering clients in Mid-western US and in Canada!

We would like to invite you to the next SISSA CLUB GENERAL ASSEMBLY of the YEAR 2022.

The Assembly will be held on FRIDAY MARCH 25TH, in room 137 (tbc) of the main SISSA building.
In order to comply with the current policy on physical distancing, only a limited number of people will be allowed in the room: the available seats are indicated on the doors and inside the rooms.
It will be possible to join the assembly also via a Zoom meeting (see link in the e-mail).
The first call is set at 9.00 a.m., while the second call is at 10.00 a.m.
We remind you that it is common to attend the assembly at the second call.

The agenda for the assembly is the following:
1) Approval of the balance for the year 2021;
2) Restart of SISSA Club social events - parties and games;
3) Any other business - free discussion.

After two years of absence, the SISSA cineclub returns in activity! 📽🎉

We announce the first screening (Tuesday 8th March, 6pm in room 128/129):

Duel (1971),
by Steven Spielberg

This movie is Spielberg's debut behind the camera. It is a thriller movie that originally was a television movie. Eventually, it was displayed in theaters in an extended version which is the one we will watch.

Short plot:
David Mann is on a business trip when he encounters a tanker truck on the way. Mann tries to pass the truck but the latter speeds up and roars past him. This is the beginning of a terrifying cat-and-mouse game between Mann and the truck driver.

The attendance is completely free and the activity is supported by SISSA Medialab.

Courses are made up of 10 lectures of 1.5 hours each, once per week.

The next Assembly of the Academic Year 2021/22 will be held on FRIDAY DECEMBER 10th, in room 004 of the main SISSA building. The Assembly can also be attended remotely via Zoom, at the same link as the SISSA Orientation Day meeting.

📢📣SISSA Club is going to restart its FITNESS COURSES @ SISSA GYM!! 💪🏋️‍♀️

The courses will be held in person and respecting all the needed safety measures (for example you will need a valid greenpass). We will start with FUNCTIONAL TRAINING and YOGA classes:

THE FIRST TRIAL CLASS IS FOR FREE. We will ask you to send confirmation or refusal after the trial lecture. The courses will then be organized in a series of 10 classes, to be paid at the beginning, either cash or via bank transfer. The cost will vary according to the number of participants (50€-100€ for functional training, 25€-75€ for yoga). In order to participate, you will need to subscribe to SISSA Club (10€ including sports insurance) and have a medical certificate for non-agonistic sports activities. Any useful information will be further communicated to the interested people.
