New album from the band AGHAR titled “Cellar of the Castle”.
An upcoming release rooted in ’90s-inspired symphonic black metal, with strong dungeon synth influences that evoke dark, medieval atmospheres from the genre’s golden era.

As with all underground projects developed at Umbra Vault, the production followed a clearly vintage-oriented approach, aiming to recreate the sound and spirit of a pivotal time in black metal history. This involved the use of natural spatial emulations, real guitar amp reamping, and keeping the drums as organic and natural as possible within the overall processing.

The final character was shaped through extensive use of tape and tube saturation, focusing on depth, texture, and raw atmosphere rather than modern polish.

This album is recommended for fans of early Emperor demos, the first two Dimmu Borgir albums, and bands such as Obtained Enslavement, Limbonic Art, Gehenna, and Ancient.
Atmospheric, symphonic black metal deeply rooted in the 1990s underground scene.

Newly released project from the also new international band Graveyard Planet, presenting their EP “Gloomy Dreams”.
A production I had the pleasure of mixing and mastering at Umbra Vault, and where I also had the chance to record the bass.

This EP was a real challenge due to its vintage ’70s doom character. The entire approach was inspired by the production techniques of that era, translated fully in the box, making heavy use of saturation, tape emulation, and natural spaces to achieve an organic and immersive sound.

Recommended for fans of Cathedral, Pentagram, Black Sabbath, and Candlemass.
