I have come to love pastels for their material consistency. My work has been always pretty polish and it’s a mantra like process when I draw, while with pastels my headspace is sort of empty and the images come together more “as feelings” than “as thoughts”. I remember when I was a child I didn’t like them because I used to get my hands dirty, but I always loved watching other people using them.

This piece it’s first of a series I began back in my residency at Berlin Sessions Residency back in the latest pre-Covid summer.

Last night I was discussing with about art while we focus on my career path and it came out a conversation about selling your art. One of the most difficult part of it is definitely to approach yourself your own patrons but another side is setting away something you created which it’s part of you and letting it go. This drawing took me about a year of work and was on my side while I moved back and forth over ocean back in 2014-2015...it doesn't have a name but it's maybe the piece I am most attached to, which is NOT FOR SALE. It hangs in my mom's B&B where I can see it every time I visit her. Finding a home to something is literally part of you is so important, so each time I find someone who cares as much as I do and wants to give that home to one of your pieces is a real gift. Work in progress....it's inspiring and fulfilling working as art entrepreneur....but that has to come together with what I love the most which is making art. Finding the time it's not always easy but it's all about balance and get inspiration also from other artists coming in! I want to thank in particular these amazing artists that share with me time and beautiful art conversations : ...grazie ragazzi!!! 💖💖💖

Lately I have been working on balancing my life, and cleaning up some old projects together with new beginnings...where apparently words and images are mixing together somehow.

alla mia primissima installazione d'edera arrampicante, nel 2006...quando ancora non sapevo che facessi, ma mi era chiaro di amare luoghi abbandonati, vecchie fabbriche, natura in tutte le sue forme...specialmente quelle invasive. Tante cose cambiate, forse l'unica è ancora che esattamente cosa sto facendo non lo so 😜

Here's my very first installation...My love for abandoned buildings, invasive plants and old factories was already there.
Many things have changed...I didn't know what I was doing...maybe today is not so different from then 😬
