La Art Gallery in Tuscany nasce a San Gimignano nel 1991 ma dal 2022 ha cambiato sede espositiva trasferendosi a Siena in Via della Sapienza,35. Da sempre la Galleria rappresenta e collabora con l'artista di origine canadese Gordon Breckenridge che vive e lavora in Toscana ormai da più di cinquant'anni, accolto prima come studente d'arte e poi come cittadino e artista italiano. In Galleria si tro

vano i suoi pezzi unici lavorati ad olio su tela che ritraggono attimi di Toscana, dove l'artista cerca di catturare la luce, il colore e la poesia di ciò che lo circonda. Da molti anni la Galleria propone una serie di riproduzioni "Fine Art" prodotte dall'artista in varie misure e una serie ad edizioni limitate di Foulard completamente prodotti in Toscana.

The temperatures are scorching, but in Siena they're even hotter. Anticipation grows, drums echo through the narrow streets, and excitement pervades every "contrada." From June 29th to July 2nd, Italy's oldest and most fascinating tradition lives again in the magical setting of Piazza del Campo.

Talking with my father about his paintings and compositions, artist often compares colours to musical notes. A musician uses notes and variations to compose a symphony; an artist uses layers of value, light and shadow, together with colour, to create infinite tones and emotions. As I watched him working on this new painting, I could almost hear the notes within the movement of his palette knives… and soon, looking at the finished piece, I will hear the entire composition.

Parlando con mio padre dei suoi dipinti e delle sue composizioni, paragona spesso i colori alle note musicali. Un musicista usa note e variazioni per comporre una sinfonia; un'artista usa strati di valore, luce e ombra, insieme al colore, per creare infinite tonalità ed emozioni. Mentre lo osservavo lavorare a questo nuovo dipinto, potevo quasi sentire le note nel movimento delle sue spatole... e presto, guardando l'opera finita, sentirò l'intera sinfonia.
