In Sauze d’Oulx, the real Workers’ New Year was never celebrated on December 31st.
It has always been celebrated after.
When the shifts were over.
When only workers were left.

For years, this tradition lived on
at the Osteria dei Vagabondi.
Not as an event,
but as something that belonged to us.

Real traditions are not archived.
They are passed on.

Today, the baton passes to the Miravallino.
For those who lived it.
For those who live it today.
For those who will live it tomorrow.

A Sauze d’Oulx il vero Capodanno dei lavoratori non si è mai festeggiato il 31.
Si è sempre festeggiato dopo.
Quando finivano i turni.

Per anni questa tradizione è stata vissuta e portata avanti
all’Osteria dei Vagabondi.
Non come un evento,
ma come una cosa nostra.

Si passano di mano.

Oggi il testimone passa al Miravallino.
Per chi l’ha potuta vivere.
