Our Summer Programs at the Centre have come to an end with The Moving Presence, the result of an established collaboration between Princeton University and Atelier Mask Movement Theatre.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Professors Simone Marchesi and Anna Cellinese for organizing this Princeton University program with such extraordinary passion and dedication.

In August, our work will continue in China in collaboration with Open Door Theatre. Alongside two training programs—one on the Neutral Mask and another on Devising Clown—we will also be directing a new theatre production.

We will return to San Miniato in September for our advanced program on the art of Storytelling.

MASKING THE TOWN
An exciting moment in our program is the transformation of ordinary spaces.
Yesterday, the beautiful San Miniato became our stage. We staged theatrical situations at different points in the city, and the interplay of characters in the urban landscape turned everything into a living mask—revealing the essence of the places and the lives within them.

Join us on Saturday, March 28 at 9 p.m. at Circolo Cheli, via Guicciardini 17, for the final performance of Atelier Mask Movement Theatre's three-month International School.
Free entry—seating until full.

MASCHERARE LA CITTÀ
Un momento emozionante del nostro programma è la trasformazione degli spazi ordinari.
Ieri, la splendida San Miniato è diventata il nostro palcoscenico. Abbiamo messo in scena situazioni teatrali in diversi punti della città, e l’interazione dei personaggi nel paesaggio urbano ha trasformato tutto in una maschera vivente—rivelando l’essenza dei luoghi e delle vite che li abitano.

Vi aspettiamo sabato 28 marzo alle 21:00 al Circolo Cheli, via Guicciardini 17, per la performance finale della Scuola Internazionale di tre mesi dell’Atelier Mask Movement Theatre.

As every year, we had the pleasure of visiting the Museo Internazionale della maschera Amleto e Donato Sartori with our students.

It is truly a magical place: an immersive journey into the mystery of the mask throughout the history of theatre, but above all into the art and the revolutionary research of the Sartori family. An experience that is not only fascinating, but also deeply educational, as it shows the extraordinary level that can be achieved when art, craftsmanship, and anthropological and expressive research come together.

As always, Sarah Sartori guided us through these wonders with remarkable knowledge, passion, and great humanity.

Thank you for your artistic research and for being the guardian and bearer of this precious heritage.

Come ogni anno abbiamo avuto il piacere di visitare con gli studenti il Museo Internazionale della Maschera Amleto e Donato Sartori.

È un luogo davvero magico: un viaggio immersivo nel mistero della maschera attraverso la storia del teatro, ma soprattutto nell’arte e nella ricerca rivoluzionaria della famiglia Sartori. Un’esperienza non solo affascinante, ma anche profondamente istruttiva, perché mostra l’altissimo livello che può raggiungere l’incontro tra arte, artigianato e ricerca antropologica ed espressiva.

ATELIER MASK MOVEMENT SCHOOL
The half mask has now entered our training path. As a gateway to the use of the sonorities of the body, we work with the Monodirectional masks. Through their simple forms and clear directions, they become an essential guide for exploring the voice and the process of vocal masking.

The Monodirectional Masks are designed and created by Matteo Destro.
