Il tempo sospeso è un tema chiave della poetica di Stefano Bombardieri, incarnato nel rinoceronte sollevato da terra che, da suggestione felliniana, è diventato un vero e proprio alter ego dell'artista.
Nella mostra Sospesi a San Gimignano, l'animale si veste per la prima volta di foglia oro. La grana della sua pelle dialoga con la texture stratificata dei palazzi e il colore aureo con il Duomo, in una risposta di laica spiritualità.

Suspended time is a central theme in Stefano Bombardieri’s poetic vision, embodied by the rhinoceros lifted from the ground which, inspired by a Fellini-inspired vision, has become a true alter ego of the artist.

For the exhibition SOSPESI in San Gimignano, the animal is clad in gold leaf for the very first time. The texture of its skin enters into dialogue with the layered surfaces of the historic buildings, while its golden hue resonates with the Cathedral, creating a response imbued with a sense of secular spirituality.

From May 29 to June 12, 2026, isculpture Art Gallery presents a Solo Exhibition by Stefano Bombardieri.

The exhibition extends beyond the gallery into the heart of San Gimignano.
Fom May 29 to 31, two monumental sculptures will be installed across the town’s main squares, with an additional work presented at the Rocca Montestaffoli.

A journey through contemporary sculpture, public space, and historical landscape, developed in collaboration with the Consorzio Vernaccia di San Gimignano during Regina Ribelle Wine Festival, under the patronage of the Comune di San Gimignano
