2 - Armando – 151 (Original Version)
(Warehouse Records)
1988

"151" (Original Version) is a foundational 1988 acid house track produced by the legendary Chicago DJ and producer Armando (Armando Gallop). Released when he was just 18 years old on his own imprint, Warehouse Records, it remains one of the defining blueprints of early underground dance music.

The Records Behind My Electronic Journey

Life and times - Chapter 28

A journey back to the electronic sounds of the early and mid-1980s - from techno, electro and the first experimental forms of house music to the records that shaped my adolescence and influenced the way I would eventually understand music.

This was an era where technological innovation, art, independence and creativity came together in a completely new way. Synthesizers, drum machines, experimental sounds and unforgettable hooks created a new musical language - raw, futuristic and full of imagination.

For a generation that experienced uncertainty and hardship, music became a way of transforming trauma into triumph, turning machines and sounds into weapons of mass joy and bringing them into the first clubs and underground dancefloors.

These are some of the records that shaped me.
The sounds that became part of my DNA.
