Nato nel 1998, in ventidue edizioni ha registrato, fino al 2019, la presenza di oltre 1250 cori provenienti da 49 paesi. La varietà dei luoghi delle esibizioni e il vastissimo repertorio presentato dai cori partecipanti pongono il Festival non solo come una delle più spettacolari manifestazioni internazionali del canto corale ma anche come un irripetibile momento d’incontro di diverse culture musicali. The ALTA PUSTERIA FESTIVAL is a non competitive choral event that takes place in Val Pusteria: the valley, one among the most beautiful one of the whole Alpine arc, is located at the border between Italy (Suedtirol region) and Austria (Ostttirol region) at the foot of the Dolomites. The first edition of the Festival took place in 1998; since then more than 1250 choirs, coming from 49 countries, have been participating in the twenty-two editions set up till 2019. The variety of the locations selected for the performances together with the extremely rich repertoire presented by the participating choirs make this Festival event not only one of the most spectacular international choral festivals but also a unique opportunity of mutual and fruitful exchange between different musical cultures.
