There is a particular quality to summer in Sicily: unrelenting light, the deeply blue sea, the sky pressing wide. Carla Sutera Sardo's figures disappear behind giant flowers, float beneath the surface of the water, their faces dissolving into motion and color.

Now on view: FOUNDATION, on Artsy presenting limited edition prints by Palermo artist Simone Geraci.

Geraci trained in graphic arts and printmaking at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo, a discipline that remains at the core of his practice. Working across etching, aquatint, and drypoint, he builds his images through patient layering of line and tone, figures caught in states of reverie and quiet contemplation.

Foundation traces the structural and emotional origins of his visual language.
