VENUS WITH ME: the exhibition through the voices that shape it.

From an early Valentino dress dating back to 1966, where each sequin is applied individually, to the challenge of pairing couture with Joana Vasconcelos’ Full Steam Ahead, every choice reveals the precision and complexity behind the dialogue between fashion and art.

A journey inside PM23 where Valentino’s garments move from the archive into a new dimension.
Joana Vasconcelos reinterprets couture through a new visual language, creating connections between fashion, sculpture, and lived experience.

The artist reveals the layered meanings within the dialogue between Valentino’s creations and her artworks — from reflections on femininity and domesticity to the transformation of unexpected materials such as plastic cutlery, pots, and everyday objects.

Through this dialogue, VENUS becomes a space where fashion is not only preserved, but continuously reimagined.

Behind VENUS lies a collective story shaped by many hands, voices, and communities.

For this exhibition, the Fondazione Valentino Garavani e Giancarlo Giammetti collaborated with educational, social, and healthcare partners across Rome, transforming creativity into a shared act of participation and care. Students, patients, women from shelters, refugees, and detainees took part in workshops that brought the Valkyrie VENUS to life through gestures of making, learning, and connection.

Over 756 hours of workshops and more than 200 participants contributed to the creation of its crocheted elements, turning manual work into a powerful experience of inclusion, empowerment, and social engagement.

Through these partnerships, the Fondazione reaffirms its commitment to fostering creativity as a force for dialogue, education, and collective transformation, where art becomes a space for community, growth, and shared possibility.

VENUS is now open.

Trame #73 is the documentary and video installation by director presented within the exhibition VENUS at PM23.

Luchetti chose to frame the project from a unique perspective: the spaces where the artwork is made and the human process behind it: the time, gestures and relationships that shape Joana Vasconcelos’s Valkyrie.

Luchetti’s camera entered fashion schools, prisons, shelters for women victims of violence, hospices, and children’s hospitals alongside Joana Vasconcelos’s atelier.

So the project unfolds through shared making, where crochet becomes a language of connection, care and participation. What emerges is not only the construction of a monumental sculpture, but a collective narrative made of voices, experiences and encounters.

Trame #73 collects 73 testimonies across 40 screens, inviting us to look at art from the inside, as a space where creation is also listening, collaboration and social exchange.

Come and see Trame #73 at VENUS, the new exhibition now open at PM23.

Introducing PM23 Play Art, the new learning program dedicated to kids and families.

At PM23, we conceive art as a space for encounter and transformation: a place where workshops, participatory activities, and shared experiences activate dialogue, experimentation, and creative awareness.

Within this program, we present "VENUS - Play the exhibition" (VENUS - Gioca la mostra), PM23’s new Sunday format for children and families.

Starting March 15th, families are invited to discover VENUS through a different perspective, guided by curiosity, imagination, and play.

Each Sunday, children will explore the exhibition in a unique way, encountering artworks through specially designed materials and creative activities created for the occasion.

Join us for a new way of experiencing art together.

Every Sunday, starting March 15th.
