Every year on June 29, Rome celebrates Saints Peter & Paul, the patron saints of the Eternal City.
According to Christian tradition, Saint Peter, the first Pope, and Saint Paul, the Apostle to the Nations, were both martyred in Rome during the reign of Emperor Nero. Their faith and legacy shaped the history of Christianity, making this one of Rome’s most important religious celebrations.
The spectacular fireworks above Castel Sant’Angelo continue a centuries-old Roman tradition, filling the sky with light as thousands gather along the Tiber to honor the city’s rich history, faith, and culture.
