We’ve got to set the standard.
As artists, people look at what we do, how we move, what we stand for. So let’s make it count. Let’s show up integrity, with passion, with respect. Let’s be the example others can look to and say: “That’s how it’s done.”
We are artists but at the same time educator.
I’m seeing all these artists going off on their stories about what’s happening in our scene after what Brando exposed. And honestly? Hate to say it, but if this scene is falling apart, that’s on YOU.
For years you’ve been putting image over essence. Clout over culture. Filters over feeling. Techno was ALWAYS bigger than trends, bigger than goofy marketing stunts, bigger than whatever circus you’re programming next. Techno comes first. Always did. Always will.
We’ve hit a point where making music isn’t even a pleasure anymore, it’s a survival move. A hustle for visibility. A chase for money. Our tracks, the ones that fuel your DJ sets, stack your agency deals, fill your pockets, somehow end up being worth zero in your eyes. Because you’d rather book a face than a sound.
That’s crazy.
We have a responsibility. Not just to party, but to move people. To educate them. To elevate them. That responsibility is power. And power should be used with integrity, not for vanity metrics.
I just stepped into my tenth year in this industry. I’m 27, still young on paper, but don’t get it twisted, I’ve seen how this machine works. I know the politics. I know the games.
Start giving flowers to the ones who actually deserve them.
You want big guests? Cool. At least book artists who bring quality. Who bring substance. Not clowns chasing algorithms.
Protect the music. Or don’t be surprised when there’s nothing left to protect.
