Progressi sull'elmo legionario..... fatto alla forgia il paracolpi trasversale sulla fronte. Lascerò le martellate visibili, proprio come nell'originale, proprio perchè lo abbiamo fatto allo stesso modo! e anche sulla calotta lascerò tracce di limature profonde e martellate. Le eccellenti foto prese sull'originale rivelano tutti questi particolari. Non se ne può più di tutti questi elmi commerciali perfetti, lisci e molti addirittura cromati!!!!! Un errore e un orrore che gradualmente dobbiamo eliminare dalla mentalità degli appassionati, moltissimi in errore ma in buona fede.
Il ferro deve annerirsi, a causa delle macchie di ruggine annegate nell'olio. E altro olio, di gomito, ragazzi, per mantenere pulito l'armamentario, proprio come facevano i nostri lontani progenitori nei momenti di pausa nel Castrum!!!!
Progress on the Legionnaire Helmet ... made to forge the transverse bumper on the forehead. I will leave the hammers visible, just like in the original, just because we did it the same way! and also on the cap I will leave traces of deep and hammered filings. The excellent photos taken on the original reveal all these details. I cannot stand all these commercial helmets perfect, smooth and many even chrome !!!!! A mistake and an horror that we must gradually eliminate from the mentality of the people, many in error but in good faith.
The iron must be blackened, because of the rust stains drowned in the oil. Do not be afraid of rust and remove it, not too much, with your work and using oil, as our ancient Roman soldiers did in the few moments of break in the Castrum !!!!!!
