At IDEA we always say that the best sources of inspiration are those you can find in everyday life, behind shop windows, at street corners, and in the most unexpected details of our cities.

We’re putting this into practice more than ever this year, because the difficult times we’re facing call on us to look beyond the screen again, to remind ourselves that we’re surrounded by wonder and color, and that inspiration is right here, under your nose.

Long story short:
you are not replaceable. 👈🏻

AI can generate faster.
It can remix patterns, references and ideas that already exist.
Anyone can generate that.

But the industry doesn’t look for “the mean”.
It looks for artists, innovators, and people with a real point of view.

Every hour you spend studying anatomy, perspective, light, color and composition is building something AI cannot own: your artistic judgment. ✨

Because generating ideas is easy.
Understanding which ideas are actually meaningful, effective or culturally relevant is the real skill.

Human creativity is messy, unpredictable, and constantly evolving.
That’s why mastery still matters. 🙌🏻

In a side-scroller project, it’s all about effective shapes, and a design that tells a story (and it’s fun to watch).

Watch out: students on the loose!

As soon as Spring hits, our Urban Sketching sessions are back! And as per tradition, the weather decided to change... but that didn’t stop us. We took over churches, cafes, and pastry shops: no one is safe from our sketchbooks!

"Let's show the world, one drawing at a time!"

This is the motto that started the Urban Sketching movement, and we couldn’t agree more.
