🎧 The sound of Morten

Introducing composer Titas Petrikis, who wrote the score for Ivan Pavljutškov’s debut feature. Music for a boy, a camera and a bog that bends the rules of the ordinary world.

Aching strings and tones that hover between memory and dream, the score follows Morten through first love, loneliness and the strange pull of the swamp, carrying the film’s sense of timelessness in every note ✨

🎬 Introducing Morten - the debut feature from Estonian director Ivan Pavljutškov, with an original score by Titas Petrikis.

Morten is 15. He lives on a crumbling farm with his uncle and a one-eyed cat, a world away from his wealthy classmates. His one treasure is an old camera from his grandfather, the lens through which the world turns brighter and stranger than the one he’s stuck in.

Then two girls arrive: Miia, a street artist from the city and Emilie, a mysterious girl from the bog. What follows is first love, self-discovery and a quiet brush with something beyond the ordinary.

Adapted from Reeli Reinaus’s novel and shot between Tallinn and the northern Estonian swamps, MORTEN is a coming-of-age story with a dreamlike, timeless pull, carried by Titas Petrikis’s cinematic score.

🌍 World premiere at Karlovy Vary 🏆 3 awards at Giffoni Film Festival, incl. Best Film (15+)
