The UTE Academy is back with its third edition, hosted by Sfumato Theatre Laboratory.
Margarita Mladenova and Galin Stoev together with Nuno Cardoso, the coordinator of Academy 2026, will accompany the participants in their week long exploration.

The UTE Academy Workshop returns! We're currently underway, delving once again into repertory theatre with our established team and Carme Portaceli, artistic director of Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, in Prague.

Just two months ago, in Rome, an empty space was filled with new voices.

At Teatro India, UTE Academy 2026 began its journey: young actors from across Europe came together to work, question, and explore classical text and repertoire in a shared space of learning.

Guided by Nuno Cardoso, together with Florian Hirsch (Head Dramaturg at Théâtre National du Luxembourg), the group engaged with recurring motifs, historical context, and the artistic choices that shape character and narrative.

What remained was not only the work,
but a process — collective, rigorous, and open.

Now, the journey continues in Prague.

We are glad to announce the second edition of the UTE Academy, hosted by Prague City Theatres, where the same team will come together again, joined by two new guest teachers, to continue this exploration in a new context. Thank you Carme Portaceli (artistic director Teatre Nacional de Catalunya) and Tomáš Ráliš (stage director and playwright) for joining the UTE Academy 2026.

From Rome to Prague,
