Grana fine
Archival pigment prints on Awagami Kozo Thin Japanese paper 70 gsm and bronze

Edition of 5 + IV each
57 x 74.5 cm framed

To create Grana fine, Elisabetta Benassi closely observed the preparation process of lithographic stones. Once a printing cycle is completed, the existing image is erased so the stone can be reused. This procedure—built on repetitive gestures—relies on water and natural pumice rubbed across the lithographic surface: a motion that, while cancelling the previous drawing, generates new marks and geometric patterns. Ten fine-art pigment prints on Awagami Kozo Thin Japanese paper presented together with a bronze element cast from fragments of pumice stone—objects that, through use, unintentionally record a form shaped by function.
