It’s only September 1st and I’m already FFV (feeling Fall vibes)👻

If you’ve followed me for a while you know that natural heritage is my favorite type of heritage. So I hope you enjoy these cool photos I took last week at Grotte di Castellana 🗻

I surely enjoyed visiting le Grotte with their all-year-long temperature of 16 degrees (Celsius), considering how hot and humid this Southern Italian summer has been so far🔥

Mind you that the white cave (“grotta bianca”) is thought to be the most beautiful and the shiniest in the whole world🤍

You might want to pay a visit this month if you’re in Puglia, and especially if you’ve had enough of the burning heat🤒

Day trip to the Tremiti Islands🏝️

Now I know why they inspired so many singers and poets🥰

The visit included the islands of St. Nicholas and St. Dominus, which I found stunning for their blue waters and clear sand🥹

Some of our 200 plum trees🌳

Every year during this time I love to take long walks in the countryside. Mother Earth is so abundant and generous☺️

Some of our plum varieties are usually perfect to pick during the last ten days of August or in early September. For others, we usually wait until mid-to-late September. Look at the abundance of nature in the generosity of these trees🥹

And the colors of late summer sunset through the trees (no filter)? And the strength of their branches? They look wonderful, don’t they? Did you know that a single branch can hold more than 100 plums?

So this is what our fields in Puglia look like this time of year. I love it🌿

Been looking for a tiki bar in Rome? Look no further than 𝑴𝑨𝑲𝑨𝑰 𝑺𝑼𝑹𝑭 & 𝑻𝑰𝑲𝑰 𝑩𝑨𝑹🌴 🍹

I was in Hawaii in 2015 (during my San Francisco years) and this was the closest I’ve been to something similar in Italy🌺

Let’s welcome August (my birthday month)🎉

Villa Adriana is a magnificent archaeological complex sitting just outside of Rome that was wanted by emperor Hadrian (117-138 a.C) and used as a retreat from the stressful city💆🏻‍♂️

The Villa is known to have had over 30 buildings, several pools, baths, fountains and classical Greek and Roman architecture, like the arch you see in this photo🏯

I was moved at the sight of some of the gardens and natural areas, which can still be seen and enjoyed today as they were hundreds of years ago😸

Memories of a Ligurian summer🥲🌱

Another Italian region where you can truly mus-aller.

And another region that has it all: beauty, architecture, history,
food and the amazing sea views all along the coast🥹

These pictures where taken at Castello d’Albertis, an amazing historic residence which was former home of sea captain Enrico d’Albertis, then a quick pic at nighttime of the Cattedrale di San Lorenzo (pic 9), some sea views on our way to the lovely town of Boccadasse with its popular “spritz beach” (lots of people gather by it🍹) and some of the foods that make Liguria unique in the world, such as trofie al pesto (from trattoria Cavour 21) and focaccia di Recco among others🌱🧀

Hope you all make it there at least once in your lifetime🥰
