C’è un volto nascosto tra i fiori. Lo hai visto?
A prima vista, “Vaso di fiori e testa scolpita” di Margherita Caffi sembra una raffinata composizione floreale. Ma osservando meglio, dall’oscurità emerge una testa scolpita che affiora tra petali, foglie e ombre.
Realizzata tra il 1685 e il 1686, l’opera gioca sul contrasto tra ciò che è vivo e ciò che è immobile, tra la natura in continua trasformazione e la permanenza della scultura. I fiori sbocciano, appassiscono e cambiano; la pietra resiste al tempo. Eppure, nella tela, entrambi convivono nello stesso spazio, avvolti da una luce teatrale che li rende protagonisti di un dialogo silenzioso.
Un’opera che ci ricorda come la natura e il tempo siano sempre in dialogo tra loro.

There’s a face hidden among the flowers. Did you see it?
At first glance, Margherita Caffi’s “Vase of Flowers and Sculpted Head” looks like an elegant floral arrangement. But upon closer inspection, a sculpted head emerges from the darkness, peeking out from among the petals, leaves, and shadows.
Created between 1685 and 1686, the work plays on the contrast between what is alive and what is still, between nature in constant transformation and the permanence of sculpture. Flowers bloom, wither, and change; stone withstands the test of time. Yet, on the canvas, both coexist in the same space, enveloped in a theatrical light that makes them the protagonists of a silent dialogue.
A work that reminds us how nature and time are always in dialogue with one another.
