In November The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) has announced nominations for the 7th Annual MUAHS Guild Awards honoring outstanding achievements in make-up and hair styling in motion pictures, television, commercials, and live theater.
Makinarium has been nominated for "Feature-Length Motion Picture – BEST SPECIAL MAKE-UP EFFECTS for the movie 6 Underground.

Makinarium is leaded by Angelo Poggi (Business Manager) and Leonardo Cruciano (Creative Director, SFX/VFX Supervisor).
However, the current core of the group is based on a strong team constituted by creative and active producers, as Silvia Chicoli and Matteo De Gregori, and artists, as the “historical” lead sculptor Gigi Ottolino, the lead special make-up artist Alessandro Catalano, in addition to model makers as Jorge Poza Bustamante, Marta Marrone, Vito Sabini, and the great key mechanical and animatronic technician Francesco Sabelli.
Many other artists cooperate with Makinarium, although they’re involved in Hollywood and international productions: concept artists as Luca Nemolato, Daniel Auber, Daniel Carrasco; vfxartist as Giuseppe Motta; writers as Maurizio Temporin.
Also, Makinarium cooperates with great special make-up and hyperrealism artists, such as Lorenzo Tamburini, Ivan Poharnok, Valter Casotto, Valentina Visintin, Nelly Guimaras Sanjuan and Ivan Bejarano. Moreover, the group frequently works with special effects designers and makers with the most transversal skills, such as Andrea Giomaro, Carlo Diamantini, Tommaso Ragnisco and Andrea Leanza.
Between the creative people who grew up for a while inside Makinarium and now work in several projects all around the world, there are artists such as Nolwenn Caro, Luigi D’Andrea, Francesca Galafassi, Domenico Matera and the vfx supervisor Francesco Paglia.
To complete the whole visual effects creative process, Makinarium brings together a strong VFX and CGI company network, leaded by Vfx supervisor Simone Silvestri and Vfx producer Vito Picchinenna; this network is mainly based on a mixed team composed of Post Production Companies, such as Palantir Digital, Hive Division, Illusion, PFX and Nema FX.
For the Production area, Makinarium entrusts the management of executive production to its main partner Revok Film, leaded by Donatello Della Pepa.
Last but not least, we can’t forget the talented engineer, animatronic technician and greatest friend Terence “DOC” Popolo Rubbio, taken from us too soon, who allowed Makinarium to be founded.
