to be in purgatory🪝, you must have ate radish at least once in your life. at purgatory, you don’t get radish soup, you are served with cakes 🍰 and pumpkins despised by the radish deity. you can choose to play slides with pink dolphins or you can bury yourself in soil with 👋🏻 kitty. eat your RADISH, only the excommunicated stays in mount purgatory. 🏔

Yes, it has been a while 🎣 But we are back! For SAW 2022, we present Trip-i-Kebana as part of The Projector x Louis Ho’s “It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to”, alongside other wonderful artists💫

Opens on Jan 12 till Feb 6 at The Projector, Golden Mile Tower. 🥠

Meditate with us in Inferno, Cleanse with us in Paradiso, Party with us in Purgatory.

Trip-i-kebana is part triptych and part ikebana, a constructed dreamscape that explores the liminality between opposing forces (happiness/unhappiness, heaven/hell, happy/ sad, utopia/dystopia, good/evil). The playground for an endless loop, the interstice between opposing forces, finding no place of purchase in either reality.

Sunset X is defined by the music and talent of many individuals that have contributed, giving the film its transportive appeal through visual and aural injections. In its theatrical opening, with music scored by Zachary Singson Dominguez , the scene conveys an entanglement between the characters of the film through an embryonic emergence. Lulled by the song of the ethereal Sea Peri, they move and ebb with the words of the seaweed goddess in a dance that can only signal a deep longing and desire.

SUNSET X - This is not sci-fi, this is heartbreak !

It is a dizzying tale of forbidden love between three individuals from the Republic of Synkie. With a flourishing kelp industry that is turning the country's capital into Kelpital, the bearing of a Kelpitalocene upon the contemporary struggles of the Synkie people is reflected through the lives of Eden, Yasmyn and Wan Ting. In a non-linear ocean of visual fantasy, eco-enterprise, cult economy and alternative imaginings of spirituality, the protagonists find themselves mired in a "rupturing apocalypse of the harrowing heart".

The work is an invitation to think beyond monolithic methods of fiction-making in moving images. The chaotic set pieces and fragile relationship structure bridge elements from our reality to speculate parallel universes where dominant narratives are overturned. In a time where the future is fraught with challenges, Sunset X - This is not sci-fi, this is heartbreak exercises its choice to pre/de/scribe plausible realities into existence.
