San Sebastian’s art museum has Goya’s entire collection of etchings “The Disasters of War” on view.
How modern they are in their psychological depth. The pairing with Motherwell had me thinking, I stared into the blackness of Motherwell’s painting for so long that the surface seemed to writhe with hidden turmoil. The minimalist painting was moving. Literally.
