Today is Bandcamp Friday — let’s talk about music and its future.
In case you haven’t heard, Bandcamp Friday is a day when the platform waives its fees, meaning 100% of what you pay goes directly to the artists. It’s a small but meaningful act in a time when the music industry is facing a deep and undeniable collapse.
Just think: selling a single CD today earns more than thousands and thousands of streams. Platforms like Spotify don’t just underpay artists — they’ve also made ethically questionable choices, including investments in the weapons industry.
Bandcamp remains one of the few honest spaces, where artists are respected and fairly compensated.
