Last night’s closing recital at the Basilica di San Pietro was a reflection of that vision: an intimate evening where Bach, Schumann, Couperin, and Ravel came together in a performance of remarkable depth and elegance🎶

A beautiful ending to an unforgettable week of music✨🎶

The 21st edition of the Trasimeno Music Festival came to a close in the magnificent Basilica di San Pietro with a solo recital by Angela Hewitt, Artistic Director of the Festival.

From Bach and Schumann to Couperin and Ravel, the evening offered a journey through centuries of extraordinary music, performed with the insight, elegance, and artistry that have made Angela Hewitt one of the world’s leading pianists.

Yesterday, James Runcie joined the Trasimeno Music Festival for two special events at the Teatro del Pavone in Perugia!📖✨

In the afternoon, he shared the stage with Angela Hewitt for A Passion for Bach, where readings from his novel The Great Passion were interwoven with live performances of Bach’s music.

Later, in conversation with Eric Friesen, Runcie reflected on his career as an award winning author, screenwriter, and television producer, sharing the stories behind his books and creative journey.

Soloists from Teatro alla Scala on the stage of the Teatro Pavone✨🎻

Following the pre-concert talk, Angela Hewitt joined the Sestetto Wanderer, exceptional artists from one of the world’s most renowned opera houses, for a programme that travelled from the refined beauty of Richard Strauss to one of Schubert’s most beloved masterpieces, the “Trout”.

A performance filled with elegance, warmth, and outstanding artistry, shared in one of Perugia’s most beautiful theatres.

Sir Jhon Rutter at Auditorium San Francesco al Prato!

The night began with an engaging pre-concert talk, where Eric Friesen sat down with Sir John Rutter to explore the composer’s life, inspiration, and music, offering the audience a fascinating glimpse behind the programme 🎼✨

The concert that followed brought together the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia, Kerson Leong, Silvia Podrecca, the Cantores Beati Ubaldi, and Sir John Rutter himself, who conducted a programme featuring works by Grieg, Debussy, Barber, and two of his own compositions, including the beautiful Visions.

Following an engaging pre-concert talk with Eric Friesen, Angela Hewitt, Kerson Leong, Enrico Bronzi, and Samuel Buron-Mousseau came together at the Castle of the Knights of Malta for a programme featuring Debussy, Stravinsky, and Messiaen’s extraordinary Quartet for the End of Time!

From the interview to the performance, last night offered a closer look at the world of Ensemble Astera, in the evocative setting of the Castle of the Knights of Malta🎼🎷

During the pre-concert talk, the musicians of the ensemble, together with Angela Hewitt and Eric Friesen, shared the story behind the group, their musical journey, and the ideas that shaped the evening’s programme.

The concert then brought together works by Bernstein, Barber, Mozart, and Thuille, with Ensemble Astera joined by Angela Hewitt for a performance full of emotion and connection.
