La SFIDA dell’arte nel secolo ventunesimo non può e non deve essere limitata al senso estetico di un’opera, oppure all’attrattività culturale del momento, all’esaltazione e perfezionamento della tecnica dell’artista o ancora ad una attenta, moderata-esagerata rappresentazione della realtà che viviamo. Ma l’ARTE intesa come altissima disciplina fondamentale per capire,interpretare,vivere e rapprese
ntare le grandi realtà dinamiche e contraddittorie della società contemporanea. Chi fa parte del ventunesimo secolo non dipinge,fotografa o scolpisce solamente, ma si fa con queste attività interprete e portatore del cambiamento. Il ruolo dell’artista, che è colui che crea l’arte e la genera diventa importante in virtù di quegli stessi elementi dei quali ognuno può rappresentare un ambito nel quale ci si può migliorare e perfezionare, ma sempre secondo la logica della passione e del sentimento che l’artista usa per enfatizzare le situazioni e per trovare un’anima culturale nel mondo dell’arte contemporanea. La SFIDA dello Spoleto Festival Art è quella di riportare questi grandi motivi e movimenti artistici con tutte le novità e le contraddizioni del caso in una città come Spoleto conosciuta in tutta il mondo per l’arte e la cultura grazie al grande maestro Giancarlo Menotti fondatore del festival dei due mondi nel 1958. The CHALLENGE art in the twenty-first century can not and should not be limited to the aesthetic sense of a work, or cultural attractiveness of the moment, the exaltation and refinement of the technique of the artist or even a careful, moderate-exaggerated representation of the reality in which we live. But the ART understood as a high-discipline critical to understand, interpret, live and represent the great realities and contradictory dynamics of contemporary society. Who is part of the twenty-first century does not paint, sculpt or photograph only, but you do these activities with bearer and interpreter of change. The role of the artist, who is the one who creates art and generates becomes important by virtue of those same elements each of which can represent an area in which we can improve and perfect, but always according to the logic of passion and feeling that the artist uses to emphasize the cultural situations and to find a soul in the world of contemporary art. The CHALLENGE of Spoleto Art Festival is to bring these great patterns and artistic movements with all the news and the contradictions of the case in a city like Spoleto known throughout the world for its art and culture thanks to the great maestro Giancarlo Menotti founder of Festival of the Two worlds in 1958.
