Claudio Spattini è un uomo alto e prestante, diritto e di portamento giovanile.
La prima volta che lo incontrai mi sembrò di poche parole, attento e concentrato nel suo mondo di colori e di pennelli.
Spattini non è un conversatore facondo, ma questo non è un difetto, perché la sotterranea dolcezza della sua persona sgorga dalla facilità con cui dipinge colori densi e pastosi, con un intimo e racchiuso calore, come se lì e solo lì fosse permesso il dialogo aperto con il mondo e lo smascheramento della personalità fosse accettato e giustificato dalle intime ragioni dell’arte e della pittura.
Spattini è uno di quegli artisti che preferisce difendere con gelosia il proprio mondo dalla volgarità e dalla banalità - per questo si rinchiude e si difende - pronto a manifestarsi se il clima gli è congeniale e quando, messe da parte le chiacchiere inutili, è necessario dimostrare con i fatti quello che veramente si vale.

Claudio Spattini is a tall, well-built man, erect, and youthful in his bearing.
The first time I met him, he seemed a man of few words, attentive and focused on his world of colors and brushes.
Spattini is not a fluent conversationalist, but this is not a flaw, because the underlying sweetness of his personality emerges from the ease with which he paints dense, rich colors, with an intimate and reserved warmth, as if there, and only there, open dialogue with the world was permitted, and the unmasking of his personality was accepted and justified by the intimate reasons of art and painting.
Spattini is one of those artists who prefers to jealously protect his world from vulgarity and banality—for this reason, he withdraws and defends himself—ready to reveal himself if the climate is congenial to him and when, putting aside useless chatter, it is necessary to demonstrate with facts what one truly is worth.
