Still a few spaces left!
In these times of particularly increased unrest and instability it can be difficult to plan a trip like this, but we hope you’ll consider coming anyway. When artists like you have come to Padula, it’s as if the sun comes out here. Your enthusiasm brings the idea that “something can happen” here. Your openness and your capacity to see deeply brings validation: this small place matters, it is beautiful, maybe even important in some way.
This time we’ll also be going across the mountains to the lovely seaside town of Scario and its small port and rocky coast.

Feel like running away to the Italian countryside to eat, drink and do some art? Join us September 12-19 for a watercolor painting workshop with Andy Evansen.
This adventure will take us from the the beautiful rural scenery around the hilltop town of Padula in the Vallo di Diano in southern Italy, over the green Alburni mountains, through the National Park of the Cilento, to the clear blue Mediterranean where we'll stay for a few days in the lovely seaside village of Scario.

We're super excited to announce that will be back next year for a very special painting adventure that will take us from the hilltop village of Padula, over the mountains of the Cilento National Park, and to our favorite gem of a seaside town along the wild Cilento coast.

We're delighted that former artist-in-residence Nisa Ojalvo has been invited to share some of the photography work she created while here in Padula at this year's celebrations for our patron saint, San Michele Archangelo. The work, all created during her participation in last year's procession and celebrations , will be on view at the Chiesa San Michele Archangelo through the end of the novena on May 24th!

Our most recent group of artists in residence got to participate in this workshop on "cinti". A traditional votive/sculpture, the cinti are carried on top of the head during local religious processions as a way to thank whichever saint the procession is honoring for help or miracles received for a loved one.
