Part of our work as AS fans is defending the integrity of the AS in the public space. Besides maintaining a clear definition of the AS as a support for many practices rather than a practice itself, it is also about respecting the effort and investment the certified teachers have made to study and represent the AS, having gone through the evaluation process and spent time, attention, and money, often running to thousands of hours and euros. The approval to represent the AS depends on a definition of what the AS is because without a definition, there can be no representation of anything. Therefore: The AS is a list, as its title suggests. A document with an overview and critique of various somatic disciplines, a list of useful references, and suggested applications. Certification also depends on meeting basic competence standards such as knowing and fluently transmitting the content of the AS, and the observance of some conduct parameters. -The respect for the integrity of the AS, its suppositions and specific terms. -The acknowledgement of the AS as my intellectual property, the copyrighted document I authored. -The acknowledgment of other sources of inspiration, whether literary or practical. -To respect the physical, mental, and moral sovereignty of the student. The respect for the effort to acquire status as a certified teacher. Even though we encourage our students to use and share the AS in the context of their own work, we ask them to make sure people know they are not certified and that they are using the AS as a support for their own focus. Obviously, we do not possess the legal power to threaten court proceedings, but we can say something at least when people do not respect these boundaries.
The Axis Syllabus is the Axis Syllabus. It's not everything and anything. To teach something in particular, you have to know what it is. When people teach it, they should demonstrate that they know the content of the document. Otherwise, they could negatively influence the public profile of the representative group. If someone doesn't have the ethical fiber to either honestly declare that they are NOT certified or submit to peer EVALUATION, they should be called out.
