Last week, we were blessed with the extraordinary privilege of meeting Pope Leo XIV in Rome.

This unforgettable encounter was a moment of profound grace for our workshop and for us personally. We had the immense honor of presenting our statues of Notre Dame de Guérison to the Holy Father, who not only blessed them but also crowned them—a gesture that touched us deeply and filled our hearts with gratitude and emotion.

The Holy Father spoke very kindly about our Madonnas and expressed his appreciation for the beauty and craftsmanship of the sculptures. His words were a great encouragement and a precious recognition of our work, which we will treasure forever.

We wish to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Fathers Yves and Cyrille, whose dedication and faithful service to Notre Dame de Guérison made this extraordinary moment possible. Their support, generosity, and commitment are truly invaluable.

We thank God for this special blessing and for a day that will remain forever engraved in our memories and in the history of our workshop.

From a simple block of wood to a sacred work of art

Here you can see how a large church statue is created. First, several pieces of wood are carefully glued together to form a solid block. Then, our artists shape the sculpture step by step by hand, bringing the figure hidden inside the wood to life.

As Michelangelo said: “The sculpture is already inside the block — we just have to reveal it.”

After the carving is completed, the statue is finely painted and prepared for its place in a church.

Farewell and Hope

Station XIII: Jesus is taken down from the Cross
"Joseph of Arimathea... asked Pilate to let him take down the body of Jesus. Pilate gave him permission." (John 19:38)

Station XIV: Jesus is laid in the tomb
"Then Joseph took the body... and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn in the rock." (Matthew 27:59-60)

Reflect:
Silence. Grief. The end seems final. But in the darkness of the tomb, God is already preparing the victory of life.

Prayer:
Lord, let us never lose hope in the resurrection, even when we face the "tombs" of our own lives. Amen.
