The project “Tra cielo e terra,”by Edoardo Aruta, begun in 2013, from which three works are on display, develops. The idea stems from the artist's request to the Italian state for the issuance of a new series of postage stamps. Unlike traditional ones, these portray clouds in the sky of random shapes without geographical references, individuals, or precise indications of belonging, the exact opposite of what the object in question represents: no propaganda or nationalism, no exaltation of identity or power, but a shared, egalitarian, and open landscape.

On display are over 20 works by Edoardo Aruta, some previously unpublished and others from his recent artistic career. The exhibition revolves around one of the artist's key themes: contemporary social reality and, with it, the conceptual framework that supports it. In his works, in fact, he appeals to the awakening of an awareness of the world in which we live through a constant mnemonic exercise during which he connects fragments of various historical and political phenomena to shed light on the dynamics that recur over time, as a continuous cycle from which human beings, accustomed and prone to oblivion, are often unable to draw a lesson.
The archaic rites and primordial instincts that are represented in works such as “Ècdiṡi”, where the artist uses a biological expedient to reminder that the “molting” of the superficial layer is not definitive, that the change of skin is often just a way to disguise oneself, hide, or appropriate the attributes of another, and that this happens, sometimes, through a bloody act or by pure evolutionary chance.
