We are deeply saddened by the passing of Yayoi Kusama (1929–2026), one of the most influential artists of our time. She died in Tokyo on 14 August, aged 97.
For seven decades she turned obsession into wonder — the infinity nets, the pumpkins, the mirrored rooms that drew millions into her endless universe. Her studio said she painted until her final days, never setting aside her brush.
“I will keep on making my art until the day I die.”
She kept that promise. Rest in infinity.
