Kourtney Roy's 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐍𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢 is on view at the international photography festival Cortona On The Move ~ until Nov. 1st, 2026 🔥

Our heartfelt thanks to the artistic director Renata Ferri and to Veronica Nicolardi, Director of Cortona On The Move, for welcoming Kourtney Roy's project into this year's festival and for choosing one of its images as the visual identity of the 2026 edition.

A special thank you also to Daria Scolamacchia, Mika Poloni, Chiara Capodici of Leporello photobooks, who manages the festival bookshop, to the entire Cortona On The Move team and volunteers and finally, to everyone who joined Kourtney's guided tour.

We spent some wonderful days together at the festival opening 🌋

Kourtney Roy developed this project in 2025, during an artist residency at the Spot home gallery in Napoli.
Relying on self-portraiture, the photographer stages herself, becoming the eccentric protagonist of stories whose plots are left to our imagination.

In each shot, Kourtney Roy becomes an exaggerated figure, forced out of context, capable of creating a rupture with the city.
Her doubles emerge from the spaces through friction, giving shape to identities that are both strong and vulnerable.
Napoli is alive even when it is shown to us deserted. Roy’s performative photography proves that 𝗡𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

I’m happy to have joined at on the occasion of her participation in the group exhibition 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 with 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞, curated by .nowak.paris and , and to have attended the round table discussion, where she shared her work alongside and / .

It is wonderful to witness 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 crossing borders, moving between cultures and perspectives.

Developed during a residency at in Napoli and later presented as an exhibition, 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 emerges from the landscapes of the 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐢 𝐅𝐮𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐢, where vegetation grows from contaminated soil and becomes a living witness to environmental violence.

Anaïs Tondeur was the second artist-in-residence at Spot home gallery, following renowned Swedish photographer Anders Petersen ( ).

“In our wanderings through the outskirts we often ended up in unexpected places. One afternoon we stop on a bleak overpass in the industrial area, with a postcard-perfect Vesuvius in the background.
Kourtney transforms into a femme fatale — blonde wig, a shimmering green dress, high heels — and starts walking back and forth as cars speed past her.
There, in that instant, the title became clear: Failed Postcards from Napoli”.

"Nelle nostre scorribande in periferia finivamo spesso in posti improbabili. Un pomeriggio ci fermiamo su uno squallido cavalcavia della zona industriale, con il Vesuvio da cartolina sullo sfondo. Kourtney si traveste da femme fatale, parrucca bionda, abito verde scintillante, tacchi alti e si mette a camminare avanti e indietro mentre le auto le sfrecciano intorno.
È lì, in quel momento, che tutto prende nome: Failed Postcards from Napoli".

🔴 We are pleased to announce the extension of Kourtney Roy’s exhibition, 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐍𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢, until September 30, 2026.

🗓️ During July, the exhibition will be open by appointment only.

🔜 From July 16, the project will also be presented at the Cortona On The Move festival, under the artistic direction of Renata Ferri
