RedLine Film Festival is a dream born from the

desire to give voice to international cinema as a

vehicle for telling stories of people and events

that can touch, make people think, or simply

inspire their viewers.

We've reached our third edition thanks to the

ongoing support and trust shown by our main

🎭The Third Edition of the RedLine Film Festival

has ended with over 1000 attendees at the Teatro

Astrusi and under the starry sky in the Fortress.

We sincerely thank all the audiences who came to

discover the magic of our Festival such as

Mastercasses by the incredible

the extraordinary Jury President Vanessa Thorpe,

Martin Birght and Sir Quentin Thomas and last

but not least the incredible

and Paolo Benvenuti.

With immense pride the extraordinary show

"Betun" by was an incredible

success.

We want to thank all the directors of the works in

competition who came to participate, it was an

honor and a pleasure for the public and for the

Festival to meet you in person, you enriched so

much our event with your art.

📣Jury’s motivation:

"The jury admired this insightful exploration of the fragile and troubled lives of young people from Naples and places great expectations in the talent of these promising filmmakers.
It particularly appreciated their courageous decision to engage with such a challenging subject matter, as well as the sensitivity with which they portray the young protagonists involved in juvenile delinquency.
The jury hopes that the project will develop into a feature-length film, providing a broader narrative space for a deeper exploration of the characters and their stories".

"WE NEED TO TALK" directed by .am_amc

📣Jury’s motivation:

"For the idea the authors had of letting the protagonist speak with those who are no longer there, for the insight into the emotions it evokes, and for the possibility of talking to someone who no longer wants to confront the other person; for the way it dwells on time and on what we could have done or said.
The person living outside prison takes everything for granted, or perhaps is simply afraid.
Yet in life we must fully set ourselves free.
We must also free our true essence.
This film teaches us that we should live our authentic selves intensely and wholeheartedly"

🏆 RedLineFF3 "Best Documentary" Award

goes to "Moving Mountains" directed by

Andrea Costa .

📣Jury’s motivation:

"For its clever building of an important story in the context of a world that is coping with clashing cultures, the impact of conflict and immigration. The judges praised the filmmakers for the way they revealed the bond built through hard work between a matriarch living in a traditional rural community and an exiled young man from an entirely different background.
This was a careful examination of the refugee experience, seen from an unusual and hopeful angle driven by humanitarian impulses."

" Rhubarb Rhubarb" directed by .

📣 Jury’s motivation:

"It is a film which takes the time to tell a story through the ordinary daily life of a woman battling to survive the baffling and ever-changing world around her.
It also depicts a touching relationship between a father and daughter.
The tragedy of these characters reveals the despair that often confronts the poorest and hardest working in our society.
The realities of farming life shown here have a touching and universal reach."

🏆 RedLineFF3 "Best Feature Film" Award goes to

" The Blue Trail" , directed by Gabriel Mascaro.

📣 Jury’s motivation:

What most impressed the judges was the startling confidence of the storytelling, as it addressed the contemporary issue of an aging society using a clever near-future setting in Brazil’s Amazonian region.
The brilliant characterisations were particularly appreciated, including of course the astonishing central performance of Denise Weinberg , as Tereza, a woman who blossoms in late life just as she is about to be cruelly discarded.
Not least among the memorable cast of characters was the Amazon river itself.

Un vero onore riportare le parole dei detenuti della C.C. Mario Gozzini che hanno visto i film del Red Line Film Festival e hanno dato la loro menzione al corto:
" ...per l'idea che hanno avuto gli autori di fare parlare il protagonista con chi non c'è più, l'intuizione del sentimento che suscita, o la possibilità di parlare con chi non vuole più confrontarsi con l'altro; il soffermarsi sul tempo e su quello che avremmo potuto fare o dire. La persona che vive fuori dal carcere dà tutto per scontato, o forse ha paura. Invece nella vita bisogna liberarci appieno. Liberare anche la nostra vera essenza. Questo film insegna che bisogna vivere intensamente il noi vero. Per questo il nostro premio va al film: We need to talk.
Ci sono piaciuti moltissimo anche gli altri film ma segnaliamo Rochelle, Futuro, e Moving Mountains. Grazie mille al Red Line Film Festival di averci reso partecipi!*
