…Why did you transform your paitings into ”spatial containers”?
I have always considered space to be a key element in any aesthetic and expressive operation, one requiring the dynamic and non-static participation of the viewer as a non-secondary aspect of the operation itself.

If I have understood what you are saying, the problem of space (of all-encompassing space, evidentaly) is the fundamental theme of your research?
Yes, definitely.
To what extent?
To the extent to which the space acquires a significant operative and expressive pre-eminence over the other aspects of the work.
And conversely, to the extent to which other aspects or elements of the operation are understood, to varying degrees, to impose or emphasise internal space and external space, contained space and excluded space (not according to the traditional formula of negative and positive space) within a structure that preserves an organic aspect which conveys its origin and its destination.
