(b. 1974, Genoa, Italy) lives and works in Albissola.
Her practice explores memory, repetition and the transformation of images across different media. Working between photography, paper and porcelain stoneware, Silvia Celeste Calcagno develops a visual language in which fragile traces are translated into enduring forms, suspended between disappearance and permanence.
For Senza titolo, Calcagno presents seven works from the series Tulsi (2026). Inspired by a tulsi plant that grew spontaneously in the artist’s childhood home, the series intertwines personal memory with symbolic imagery. Floral motifs drawn from domestic interiors — a dressing gown, a kitchen curtain, a sofa upholstery, a wallpaper — are transferred onto porcelain stoneware through the artist’s distinctive printing process and permanently fixed through firing.
