We are a team of young students: two designers, three programmers, one animator designer and one musician. Our videogame, Aegyptia, is an indie one developed for the class Videogame Design and Programming of Politecnico di Milano. For the class we have just developed a demo version of the game, but now we want to go further...
The game is a 2D platform based on riddles and setted in the ancient E
gypt. The history is about the well-known myth of Isis and Osiris:
Osiris, god of nature and pastoralism is happily married to the beauty Isis, god of life. Every day they help humanity living in health and prosperity. Seth, Osiris’ brother, is really jealous of their joy. His evil desire is to tear apart Osiris and spread all over the earth his pieces (as it happens in the ancient Egyptian Myth). He plans first to divide them. The player has to break the old curse overtaking levels and so bring back together the lovers. You will play both Osiris and Isis. They are gods so they have special powers (could be methamorfosis into animals, control of nature etc) helping them during the path. The most unique feature of the game is the possibility to switch between the two characters during every level. Sometimes this oppurtunity is necessary to solve particular riddles changing objects in established zone of the levels or solve stuck-part of the game of the other character. There will be several elements of Egyptian legends and religion which will help or obstacle the two lovers along the path. All the obstacles are setted from the evil Seth to stop Isis and Osiris reunion.
